Quechua Arpenaz Tent

The tent has a typology for those looking for 2 bedrooms separated, but belonging to the same set. Ideal for two couples or a couple with children, ensuring privacy and at the same time a feeling of protection. Ideal even for a couple only, using the other room for luggage. Is a specific tent for family use, since it’s bulky and heavy to carry on the trail. The bag has hand straps and belt loops to not force the zipper. The instruction Manual is made of material that does not wet and not ripping and is sewn in bag for safekeeping. Medium understanding, with illustrations, text and color identification of distinct parts of the equipment.

The bag contains the sobreteto, 2 separate bedrooms, rods and espeques with exclusive pouch for each. Also comes with a spare kit with a slice of each type of structure, an internal elastic strings and dead game.

Has a certain difficulty to get the hang of arm or to the inexperienced campers. Assembly begins at sobreteto, where you need to pass the rods for hems on the outside of the cover. The presence of hemlines is always a bit tricky, because it must be all the rod stretched on the floor, and may get dirty tips and consequently the tent. Passing through the hem must also always be done by pushing the set through the tunnel, because if you pull the buds break up, and “bite” the tissue causing more work. The same happens in disassembly. In the case of Arpenaz 4.2 unable the complete presence of staples (has only at the ends) since the rods you get external to sobreteto.

A great advantage is the possibility of mounting and dismounting in the rain. The dorms are entirely independent and are armed. This way you can set up all the sobreteto in the rain while preserving the dormitories and other belongings dry. The camper already protected from rain may fix your tent.

Assembly:

After choosing the site, stretches on the ground coverage and passes the 4 rods in their sheaths. Are two different types of rods are identified by color to point positions. After passing the rods by sheaths, arms the bow arresting them on skewers. The arches is armed time to stretch and hold the sobreteto. It starts by one end, digging the espeques in retention. These are made in nylon straps with buckle that helps tighten the ends and ensure good resistance. It is always recommended to get the tent with all the doors and zippers closed, they could not close after I got very stretched. After arresting the clips on the ends of rods that complement the hems is time to stretch the strings to ensure perfect resistance to tir winds and rains. Are 8 strings stretching the entire set and 2 more stretching the cowls for ventilation of the rooms – all with esticadoras clamps.

Fleet coverage is time to “hang” the dormitories. Both independent, must be stretched in 4 ends of the floor and stuck in the sobreteto and then hung on the two lines of dead plastic. The floor of the room is separate, ensuring the option not to use it. He is stuck in the dorms by velcro, 3 on each side, with small hooks that ensure the flange that prevents the entry of rainwater. The door can be left flat or too rebordado in case of protection. Ready the House for the entry of equipment, accessories and other personal luggage.

MaCamp ANALYSIS:

The tent is presented in good quality. The sobre-teto tent has sealed seams with retention of good quality strap that have shaped buckle for tightening or subsequent adjustments without the need for replacement of the stanchion. The fitting of rods in the sobreteto’s skewers bushings on ends, which performed a little tight and that if they let (some) during disassembly. Although it is possible the arch frame by one person only, the ideal is to assemble the tent with the help of a second person. The instruction Manual does not makes it clear to the camper to ignore the two bedrooms before the total frame covering. The illustrations are well done and helpful color IDs in the Assembly. The repair kit comes with slices of rods and rubber bands that are very useful to campers usually. The dorm is very quiet frame through the plastic hooks. The floor of the balcony has the advantage of being optional mounting (separately), but suffers by fixing the dormitories which makes for 3 pieces of velcro on each side. This could be continuous, since in addition to ensuring a full membership, it would be more wear resistant material that loses your temporal power of the time. In the background is very well secured by colorful clips and the door can be chosen: flat position for input and output without obstacles or in case of rain, erecting a rim protected by sobreteto door. The number of strings is exhausting, but it’s necessary. The espeques are good quality, but short for use in pure sand. Are all exclusive fixation, not being used for more than one, but could come in a larger number for replacement or use in extra anchor points.

There is a great advantage to arm and disarm the tent in the rain. The sobreteto can be mounted without water no more belongs to the camper and leaving the dormitories intact. Once armed, you can enter with backpacks or even Park the trunk of his car at the entrance of the tent porch playing the same door on the hood. At this time everything is dry inside for the accommodation of the junk. Another advantage is that you can opt for no Assembly of one of the dormitories, creating a huge space for installation of living room, kitchen, etc. The central room measures 1-two Navy Seal, tall, with dimensions of 2, 10 m x 1, 55 m measured at the site.

The sobreteto has small ledges that serve as drip pan in the dorms which guarantees greater protection in the rain, especially when the floor is dirt or sand where just splashing in the dorm. Another interesting is the drip tray mounting the Rails at sobreteto. This region used to be the place where more drips water lying on the roof of the tent and this piece of fabric helps to drain out of the equipment. The room has a ceiling ventilation system that ensures protection against condensation and also great heat exhaustion in the summer. The cross-ventilation in the dorms is guaranteed by the mosquito net at the bottom opposite the mosquito net present on the door. This typology gives us the freedom to set this tent more suitable for the warm climate, since the mosquito nets, both of the rooms as the room cannot be closed. So it’s not the best tent for camping in the winter and very cold. The door of the dorm is not double (cloth and mosquito net) and Yes only and mixed with built-in mosquito net at the door at the top. This door is side-recall what guarantees does not need to hold open and not get dirty easy. Noting that the top gathering end up having to be stuck when open and the lower recoil make easier management of the zipper, but end up messing with more ease. Still talking about the room, boasts some tool crock that make a lot of the Organization. Both the living room as in the rooms there are hooks for hanging lighting and other belongings. Missed the stems (poles) to use the living room door as awning.

The dorms are reduced for those who are used to the traditional igloo. With the rounded edges and erected the original dimensions fell to 2, 02 m in length and 1 m in width useful. The time measured was 1, 26 m but with the presence of the central room (1,-two Navy Seal), you don’t see a need to stand up in the dorm.

The tent itself is quite heavy, making impracticable the use without car or on longer walks. Its 11 kg must be loaded by hand grips. There are no handles back or shoulder.

During the evaluation of this submission could not be your tent the winds and rain. A little test anything technical with a hose has demonstrated good sealing and waterproofing. The same occurred with the application of a force majeure on moorings and anchor points simulating critical points in case of wind.
