Brazilian Vinicius Woitke Won The Second Place In The Opening Stage. Renan Da Silva Was The Fifth

The Brazilian Junior Road Cycling Team started their participation very well in the International Youth Cycling Tour, which began on Tuesday (24), and continues until next Saturday (28), in Uruguay. The Brazilian group won the second place in the stage with the cyclist Vinicius Woitke.

The current Brazilian Road Cycling champion represented the colors of Brazil very well during the first stage of the Uruguayan competition. Vinicius joined the main escape of the day, formed by two Brazilians and four Uruguayans: Vicinius Woitke and Renán da Silva (Seleção do Brasil), Luis Martinez (Union Ciclista Thirty and Three), Antonio Fagundez (Barrio Artigas), Cristian Orellano And Frederico Rivero (Estudiantes El Cola).

After pedaling for 112.2 km, Uruguayan Luis Martinez crossed the finish line in first place, followed by Brazilian Vinicius Woitke and Uruguayan Antonio Fagundez. The selection still had Renán da Silva in fifth position, besides Breno Morais, who won two flying goals, one of Sprint and another mountain with bike equipment.

“The result was positive and motivated us to continue fighting for the overall title. We had an active participation during the whole stage, we won goals and participated in the main escape. The group is to be congratulated,”said Eduardo Gohr, coach of the Brazilian National Team in Uruguay.

Brazilians face the second stage on Wednesday (25). The route will be 114km, carried out between the towns of Maldonado and Minas.
