In order to know the meaning of the term cordiality, it is necessary, in the first place, to discover its etymological origin. In this case, we can state that it is a word that derives from Latin, it is exactly the result of the sum of several components of said language:
-The noun “cor, cordis”, which means “heart”.
-The suffix “-al”, which is synonymous with “related to”.
-The suffix “-dad”, which is used to indicate “quality”.

Cordiality is the simplicity, friendliness and kindness of a person. The concept refers to the quality or characteristic of cordial: affectionate, affectionate.

For example: “After the meeting, the cordiality between the government and the opposition returned”, “The president cordially received all the governors”, “We are not enemies, but rivals on the playing field: there has always been cordiality between us ”.

They can even argue and get angry on the sidelines of a game. However, off the field, they always treat each other with cordiality. This means that the rivalry is circumscribed to the sports field, without transcending the personal sphere.

Within the field of psychology, cordiality is spoken of as one of the five personality traits of the human being that shape the so-called Big Five Personality Theory. Those five traits are the aforementioned friendliness, emotional stability, conscientiousness, extraversion, and openness to experience.

It is determined that people who have cordiality also have other marked traits such as altruism, openness, great sensitivity towards others, trust, modesty and a marked conciliatory attitude. All those traits that make them individuals with a great ability to create teams.

Colombia, on the other hand, has a highway called La Cordialidad. This road, which extends about 140 kilometers, links the cities of Cartagena de Indias and Barranquilla.

This road is part of the so-called National Route 90 and runs through towns such as Galapa, Baranoa, Campeche or Arroyo de Piedra, among others. In addition, it is worth noting that if it responds to the name of Cordialidad it is because it was wanted, by “baptizing” it, to consolidate with its creation what is the brotherhood between the two cities mentioned, Barranquilla and Cartagena.
